Years ago when I started my painting business I hired someone to create a website for me. I soon discovered it made more sense for me to make my own updates, so I searched for a program that would let me make changes without requiring that I become an HTML expert. I also wanted to bring my own creativity to the design. A friend recommended Homestead, and it didn't take me long to fall in love with designing websites.
Even with a do-it-yourself site like Homestead there is plenty to learn if you want a custom look instead of a template. I didn't have a clue about how to start: headers, navigation bars, links, meta tags, and html were all foreign to me. After using their program for many years I am very confident in my skills. I can create an artistic website that is EASY to maintain and navigate - and guide my clients on how to update content, text, photos, music, or videos at their own convenience. With additional design software I create unique backgrounds and headers to give the site a custom look. My perfect clients would be computer and design novices, the artistically challenged, or folks that are just too busy to do it themselves.
I have a fine art background and have run a faux finishing and mural painting business since 1998. My eye for color and composition when creating murals and color palettes for client's homes has given me an understanding and knack for coming up with just the right look and style for my website clients. In addition to my own websites, I've created sites for other artists, entertainers, organizations, businesses, festivals, bands, family reunion sites and more.
